After the Big Bang of that first Brazzers scene, the first Jasmine Sherni has kept herself very busy, fully booked (by her talent agency The Bakery) during the time she’s blocked out in her life for shoots.
Sherni’s home base is still New Orleans, in her native Louisiana. Her website describes her as being “of Pakistani and Punjabi descent,” growing up “in small-town Louisiana navigating a richly layered identity shaped by both Jewish and Muslim family traditions.” Sherni reps New Orleans in all its unmatchable cultural glory with unfettered passion.
She’s active at Mardi Gras institutions and is intimately knowledgeable with the city’s food scene, playing as a pro in both areas for a long time before she ever set foot on a porn set. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she’s a tireless cheerleader for the 504 — any conversation with her, regardless of the topic, is guaranteed to elicit a heartfelt invitation to come visit her at the fabled Crescent City.
But even though she’s always been tapped into one of America’s funnest and sexiest cities, Sherni did not fully bloom to take full advantage of that atmosphere until she was ready to spread her erotic wings.
“I’ve always lived there, but I was engaged when I was very young, so I never really had control over my own body or sexuality,” she explained. “I was always taught that my body was for someone else's pleasure, my sexuality was for someone else's pleasure. So when I got divorced, after I left him, I wanted to take control over my sexuality. I wanted to explore non-monogamy. I wanted to explore kink. I wanted to explore being sexual and what that means for me.”
Sherni started frequenting burlesque shows, kink meetups and assorted sex parties. New Orleans, meet your match: a pent-up, sexually curious stunner with ravenous eyes, a professional knowledge of the human body (thank you, nursing school), plus a figure to raise the dead at St. Louis Cemetery No. 1.
“Ah, the sex parties,” she muses. “I really got into that — but I couldn't be open about it, because I was a nurse and when you’re a nurse you sign this contract with the state board of nursing that says you're going to act ‘morally’ (or however they think it’s moral) within this career and profession. It's like being like a lawyer — they have to act accordingly.”
Right, because famously there are no lawyers at sex parties.
Sherni laughs. Her iconic smile and her laugh are contagious.
The sex hunger persisted. Sherni wanted to explore dom work, kink and burlesque but she feared the wrath of the almighty nursing board.
“So I decided that I was going to leave nursing, because I was miserable and frustrated. I had already done some food vlogging on the side, and that's how I got into lifestyle modeling and connected with other creatives like photographers and videographers. They would be shooting restaurants or corporate clients and when they needed a model, they would hit me up. So I then tried to build a brand for modeling and influencer stuff, and I started a modeling page on Instagram — and that took off insanely fast and really quickly.”
Shortly after that, she adds with the killer, seductive smile, “People were asking how they could… sponsor me to ‘see more of me’…”
As soon as Sherni started to let the world see “more of her” (you know where, link in bio) in 2022, some of her reputational fears started materializing.
“I did not understand a lot of the things that were about to happen,” she notes. “Like, how quickly you can get banned from everything, the moment you have a sizable audience. I had a really good local audience as ‘the foodie who took boudoir photos and deep throated celery’! When I would go out for Mardi Gras, people in the crowds would see me dancing on top of the boat and would call out my foodie IG handle. It was really sweet. I really loved it. I really miss the community I had doing that. That account got hacked and I don't feel like I could ever build that again, because the algorithm knows my face now and it has already decided I’m Jasmine Sherni the adult performer.”
Sherni says she didn't realize how much showing herself as a sexual being was going to shut her off from SFW work.
“There was a fair amount of people in the foodie community that stopped fucking with me when I started doing this, like, very hard cut offs. Some of them I understand, because I do live in New Orleans, and it is a very traditional city in a way. I have a friend who is the director of a festival and she's like, ‘You now I cannot associate, right? It's old New Orleans money. You really can't be associating with anyone that they deem as undesirable or too salacious or… you know?’ I understood, of course, but it hurt. I was like, “Wow, I used to hang out with you all the time, and I've always been this person, but now that I have an OnlyFans, I'm not invited to hang out. I had another friend who also started food blogging and modeling, and then she transitioned to OnlyFans before me, and I asked her, ‘Hey, did people stop fucking with you, like, really abruptly?’ And she's like, ‘Oh yeah. Absolutely.’”
For someone as smart and multitalented as Sherni, this kind of stigma particularly rankles. She knows she has a lot to give, and she has the goods. Why limit her possibilities?
